PrismBoxPrivacy Policy
In short: PrismBox does not collect, store or sell any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and PrismBox runs no servers that receive your files.
Data we collect
None. PrismBox does not send information about you, your device or your files to us or to any third party. We do not use analytics, crash-reporting or advertising services.
Your files
PrismBox works directly with files on your device and in locations you choose to connect. Files are only read, copied or moved when you ask for it. Lists of files, thumbnails and caches are kept on your device and can be cleared in Settings.
Permissions
- Files and storage – to browse, open and organize the files you choose. On Android, PrismBox asks for “All files access” because it is a file manager.
- Photos – to show your photo library and save files you export to it. Optional.
- Local network – to find nearby devices and to connect to servers on your home network.
- Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint – to unlock the app or the vault. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device’s operating system; PrismBox never receives it.
Nearby transfer
Files sent to nearby devices travel directly between your devices over your local network, encrypted end to end. They do not pass through the internet or any server operated by us.
Servers you connect (WebDAV / NAS)
When you add a server, its address and user name are stored on your device, and the password is stored securely (in the Keychain on Apple devices, encrypted on Android). PrismBox connects only to the servers you add. How those servers handle data is governed by whoever operates them.
Vault and recycle bin
Files you move to the vault or the recycle bin stay on your device in PrismBox’s private storage. Uninstalling PrismBox deletes them, so move anything you want to keep out of the vault first.
Purchases
If PrismBox offers optional in-app purchases, they are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your payment details.
Children
PrismBox does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
This website
prismboxapp.com uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which pages are useful and how many people click download buttons. Google Analytics may set cookies and receives your browser’s IP address, which Google uses to estimate your approximate location and does not store. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are not set. Our web server also keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time, browser) for security and traffic statistics. You can block analytics with your browser’s privacy settings or an ad blocker. None of this applies to the PrismBox app itself, which contains no analytics.
