Frequently asked questions
Why can’t PrismBox see every file on my iPhone?
iOS only lets apps access their own folder, your photo library, and folders you grant access to. Tap “+” on the home screen to add folders from the Files app, iCloud Drive or a USB drive. Android does not have this limitation.
Nearby transfer can’t find my other device.
Make sure both devices are on the same Wi‑Fi network and that “Local Network” access is allowed for PrismBox (iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network; macOS: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network). Guest networks and some routers block devices from seeing each other — in that case use “Connect by IP”.
Where do deleted files go?
Files deleted on your device go to the PrismBox recycle bin and stay there for 30 days. Open Recycle Bin to restore them to their original folder. Files on servers and some external drives are deleted immediately; PrismBox tells you before deleting.
How does the vault work?
Long-press a file and choose “Move to Vault”. Vault files are stored privately inside PrismBox and can only be opened after Face ID, fingerprint or passcode. Uninstalling PrismBox deletes the vault, so move files out first.
Which servers can I connect to?
Any WebDAV server, including most NAS devices (Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS and others) and tools like rclone. Enter the address, user name and password of your server.
I forgot my app passcode.
On the lock screen, choose “Forgot passcode” and verify with your device’s own passcode to turn off the app lock.
